Web Inventor Sees Green

Tim Berners-Lee, father of the internet, talks about in the NY Times his one regret.

It turns out that he would have eliminated the double slash “//” after the “http:” in Web addresses. Why?

Look at all the paper and trees, he said, that could have been saved if people had not had to write or type out those slashes on paper over the years.” Sounds very green.

Tim Berners-Lee is still focused and passionate about the worlds governments putting more of their data online to increase, “openness, transparency and efficiency.”
